Assessment Office

***Effective Immediately,

The Knox County Chief County Assessment Office mailed exemption renewal applications in February. The deadline for renewing exemptions is September 30, 2020 so there is plenty of time. Due to increased health concerns, we ask that everyone wait to file the application for six to eight weeks. We are concerned for the welfare of our seniors and the general public as well as our staff. This is a fluid situation and changes may occur. Exemption forms are available for download on this page and can be returned either by mail or emailed to info.assessor@co.knox.il.us

For properties in the City of Galesburg please check the Township’s website https://www.ci.galesburg.il.us/government/township_assessor/ as this information is subject to change.

Most questions may be handled by phone. We are asking that you Call 345-3845 for questions about county property and 342-1106 for city property rather than come to the office.
