County GIS Coordinator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing operation of Knox
County’s GIS program.  Discusses user problems to be solved such as planning, modeling and specific assessment
of conditions
 Works with users to analyze and correct problems
 Creates and manages geospatial databases
 Performs data analytics
 Create RFPs and administers contract for updating county-wide aerials
 Prepares GIS budget and performs GIS fee studies as needed
 Conducts “needs assessments” (i.e., equipment, software, hardware, etc.) to determine
current and future needs and to provide recommendations
 Research cadastral map issues and discrepancies
 Verifies system malfunctions and determines appropriate course of action
 Works with consultants as needed
 Works with other governmental agencies as needed
 Maintains currency in technical developments by interactions with other professionals and
system vendors
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geography or related field required or equivalent
work experience with a Bachelor’s degree
The preferred candidate will have:  Experience with ESRI products and solutions; ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS-Desktop; ArcGIS
Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Model Builder, Parcel Fabric
 Experience with programming in Python, Arcade, Html, SQL, XML, JSON, Net  SQL Server, SDE Administration, SQL, spatial experience is a plus
A pre-employment background check and drug screen are required.

County Freedom of Information Officer (Position filled)

The Knox County Board is accepting applications for the position of Freedom of Information Officer for Knox County, Illinois.  This is an exempt position under the general supervision of the Knox County Board.  The position will handle all aspects of requests for information under the Illinois FOIA Act.  Successful applicants should have experience with Microsoft Office products along with previous customer service experience.  A minimum of an Associate’s degree beneficial, but not required.  The successful candidate shall be required to obtain certification by the State of Illinois as a Freedom of Information Officer within 6 months of hiring.  The starting salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.  This is a full-time position and is eligible for all benefits as allowed by the Knox County Personnel Policy.  Applicants will be subject to a pre-employment drug test and background check.  Applications can be picked up at the Knox County Clerk’s office or online from the County website.
